Welcome to LingoMatch. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our service:

• Player name — an optional display name you choose yourself
• Game progress — levels completed, words learned, coins earned
• App settings — language preferences, audio settings
• Anonymous user identifier — a randomly generated ID used to save your progress via Supabase Anonymous Authentication. No email address or password is ever required to play.
• Google account information (optional) — if you choose to link your account with Google Sign-In for cross-device progress sync, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. You can play the entire game without signing in.
• Advertising data — collected automatically by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. This may include your device's advertising ID, IP address, and ad interaction data. See Section 4 for full details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To save and sync your game progress across devices
• To display your name on leaderboards (only if you choose to enter one)
• To restore your settings when you reinstall the app
• To display advertisements that help keep the app free

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

LingoMatch uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — provides anonymous authentication, secure cloud storage for your game progress, and hosting of language content.

• Google AdMob — advertising platform. Serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads.

• Device Text-to-Speech (TTS) — uses your device's built-in voice engine to pronounce words. Audio is generated locally and does not leave your device.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

LingoMatch displays ads provided by Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may collect and use the following data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads:

• Device advertising ID (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android)
• IP address and approximate location
• Device type, operating system, and language
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

5. Data Storage & Security

Your game data is stored securely on Supabase servers using industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

6. Children's Privacy

LingoMatch is designed to be suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. The app uses anonymous authentication by default — no name, email address, or personal details are required to play. Google Sign-In is entirely optional and should only be used by users aged 13 or older (or with verifiable parental consent).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all data — available directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account, or by contacting us
• Opt out of personalized advertising (see Section 4)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
